Web Developer II

The Web Developer II (extraordinaire) is a pivotal resource responsible for the front end development of our branded sites. This position will align with other in-house developers and designers to create best-in-class user experiences that drive brand initiatives and sales. This position must be competent and current with HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, RSS, JavaScript, J-Query, Flash and other interactive technologies. Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Web Developer II performs the front end development for our web initiatives utilizing the appropriate code languages to ensure usability. The visual creative is provided by our Design team.
  • Ensures quality, feel, and usability of our sites to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers (brands, marketing teams and the consumer).
  • Adheres to and makes recommendations for department process methodologies, standards and industry best practices.
  • Develops independently and collaboratively with team members. Demonstrates teamwork, innovation, and accountability for assigned responsibilities and mentors junior developers throughout the process.
  • Partners with all eCommerce functions to identify, define and solve user-experience related issues
  • Actively participates in collaborative project planning sessions.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and innovations.

Education/Experience/Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree is preferred with 3-6 years in web development or related field.
  • Must have full knowledge of web related technologies including: XHTML, CSS, XML, RSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and Flash Programming Skills.
  • Must be experienced with Interaction design, and user centered design methods, web accessibility and browser compatibility.
  • Actively maintains current knowledge of industry trends and innovations.
  • Development knowledge and experience in an eCommerce, advertising or retail merchandising online environment required. We operate on a Demandware platform.
  • Solid organizational skills from a development perspective allowing clear pictures of code interactions and results
  • Strong communication skills- fluent in English.
  • Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Heavy attention to detail for converting creative effectively into code at the pixel level.
