Web Application Developer

TopLine Strategies is seeking an experienced Web Application Developer for our client’s Global Information Systems team. Working hand-in-hand with our Global Marketing Communications team, the candidate will be part of a team that is focused on delivering an astonishing client side experience through their web sites to tens of thousands of customers and 100,000+ prospective customers.

This job requires the ability to take complex and creative User Interface ideas and turn them into secure, robust and responsive applications. You will be working closely with marketing specialists and web content creators to define requirements, design and deliver rich user interface web applications using Microsoft development technologies such as IIS / ASP.NET / SQL2008 and Visual Studio 2008. , prototype, test, deploy and maintain code through Microchip’s SDLC. Your background must include strong development experience in web services, JavaScript, Jquery, Ajax, CSS and HTML. Experience with Flash / Flex, SQL2005/2008 and mobile application development will be a plus.

You will be part of a cross department team that spans the IS infrastructure group on one hand and creative folks on the other, and your success is not just in code delivery, but also working in the team environment to create appropriate system decisions that fit our culture and structure. You will be required to interface with our development team in India and with business analysts, systems architects and web marketing specialists locally.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • As part of a team, developing and maintaining web applications
  • Brainstorming, prototyping, wire-framing, and bringing new possibilities to the team for evaluation
  • Developing secure, reusable and responsive code
  • Collaborating with other web developers/web publishers in the Marketing team to develop software components that can be re-used to deliver dynamic client side pages
  • Delivering value to internal customers through a continual understanding of industry best practices

Required Skills, Experience and Core Competencies:

5+ years (with demonstrable portfolio) in:

  • Object Oriented Web Application Development in a team environment
  • ASP.NET 2.0 and up using C# programming language
  • Web Service, XML and SOAP data exchange solutions
  • Front end application development using JavaScript, JQUERY, AJAX, CSS and HTML
  • Demonstrated ability to follow common Software Development Life Cycle methodologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Team player, with experience working with global teams
  • Comfortable in a values based collaborative environment

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • FLASH / FLEX programming experience
  • Mobile Application Development
  • SQL 2005 / 2008 Experience
