Google has started placing your profile and your last few entries in Google+ as the first search results if you are a Google+ member. So if someone is googling you that's the first thing they will see about you! Be careful about what you place in there!

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas happening this week (Jan 10th through 13th) is seeing an invasion of Ultrabooks - lighter laptops that weigh only 3.3 lbs or so and can be "Instant On". They costs around $800 today. Question is - will they replace laptops or tablets?

Larry Summers lost his job as President of Harvard University when he suggested that women are not as good in Science as men. Baroness Susan Greenfield in Britain suggested that women are less intelligent than men and that she said was the reason for lack of more women scientists and in positions of power in the scientific community. Results of IQ tests are cited as evidence but an intriguing explanation shows that all differences adjusted for the typical average height of men and women may show no diference of any significance. Interesting discussions but the conclusions still seem elusive!

There seems to be a concerted effort to promote women in STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and recently there is a spate of scholarships available! Grace Murray Hopper is a great inspiration, role model for those interested in a career in computer science! And she had some great quotes!

At least in the U.S, more women get degrees, associates', bachelors', masters' and doctorates' than men! But it seems to take someone in the family to be a professional first before this happens! Interesting statistic!
